The twelve month tax and bill schedule

The tax year in Spain coincides with the calendar year, beginning on January 1st and ending on December 31st.

The main dates you need to be aware of are:

Residents June 30th 2012 Resident annual tax declarations (for the year 2011)
Non-residents December 31th 2011 Non-resident annual tax declarations (for the year 2011)
Companies (non-resident) January 31th 2012 Income tax (for the year 2011)
Landlords April 20th
July 20th
October 20th
January 20th
Tax on rental income (payable in four instalments for the previous three months)

You will also have IBI (local rates or council tax) to pay annually. The exact date that this is due depends upon the region in which your property is located.
